Welcome. We are the Opportunities Programme - an integral part of Single Homeless Project. We provide collaborative and creative ways for people experiencing homelessness to take an active part, to learn, share and grow. Use arts, eco-therapy including gardening, music, sport and psychological therapies we organise an ever-evolving range of social and cultural activities co-produced with people living in and using Single Homeless Project services.
Our programme often serves as a turning point for people, builds on their strengths and talents, enables positive life experiences, healthy relationships and a renewed sense of hope, confidence and possibility.
Our Projects
Sport Project
Our Sport Project uses physical activity & sport to transform the lives of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The initiative is designed to get people more active, in order to prolong lives, improve mental and physical health and reduce isolation.
ArtHouse Project
ArtHouse, A diverse and dynamic initiative, that enables both a supportive entry point to the arts, and exposure to different mediums and creatives, with a view to supporting artistic development and the collective showcasing of people’s talent, expression and imagination.
GreenHouse Project
GreenHouse works to help people connect with their environment, to appreciate, care and cultivate growth for themselves as well as our gardens and green spaces. As well as the chance to learn practical skills, and link the food growing we do with cooking and promoting a healthy diet, our GreenHouse sessions help people reduce isolation and build confidence from being part of something.
SoundHouse Project
SoundHouse is an SHP-wide service provided for creatives to express themselves through music. Many of our clients have a passion for making music. For some it’s for pure enjoyment, social or therapeutic purposes, while others have a vocational interest in working in the industry, becoming musicians, or learning music production.
