Young People’s Mural - ArtHouse Project
This project is based around a collaboration between SHP and @Blank Walls. Blank Walls is a street art company on a mission to make a positive difference through art. The mural was completed by @LeopardsLunch (aka Kate Phillipson) and materials donated to us by @GreatArt. The mural explored different themes within popular culture with the @SHPYoungPeople in Greenwich. We aimed to find out what really matters to them, i.e their beliefs, entertainment, sports, clothes, heroes, ethnicity and music. The mural aims to empower our Young People and give them a voice to share with the world who they are and what they are about. The mural is also opening up a new space on site, and is an opportunity for the YP’s to take ownership of the space and turn it into their own creative hub site, where they will run future creative workshops.
