ArtHouse Project and International Artist Heath Kane Announce Partnership To Bring More Opportunities For Clients To Connect With Art

On October 29th Arthouse Project and Heath Kane worked together to organise a private viewing for our clients of the ‘Richer Than Batman’ collection at ‘The Electric Gallery’ in Redbridge.

Four clients and three members of staff came along to the show including two Young People and project worker Caitlin from Lewisham, ROC worker Georgina, Arts Manager Meghan and two clients from services in Islington and Redbridge. This was an opportunity to inspire Single Homeless Project clients by opening their eyes to the world of screen-printing, alongside discussing Heath’s themes and techniques for his recent collection.

The exhibition discussed the concept of wealth inequality and encouraged the viewers to be interactive with the work when turning the theme of the exhibition back round on the viewers, asking them the question “If you were 400 x richer how would you feel and what would you do with the money?”

When Single Homeless Project announced the partnership, Creative Arts Manager shared:

“We use art to give Londoners experiencing homelessness space to express themselves, build relationships, confidence and learn new skills with professional artists to build a career in the creative industries.

“Heath is an incredible, pioneering artist whose work will resonate with our clients, and we’re thrilled to have him on board to expand our arts offer further.”

Since the exhibition Arthouse and Heath have been collaborating on the content for a 10-week screen-printing programme to be launched in April 2022 at our in-house screen-printing studio in Lewisham for SHP Young People.

Guest artist Adam Bridgeland will also be part of the programme, taking a lead on the introduction to screen-printing at the beginning of the course. Participants will work in collaboration with Adam, working alongside themes responding to the art world and working towards exhibiting the work at a venue in Deptford.

In addition to these wonderful opportunities, Heath has donated a percentage of his sales from the ‘Richer Than Batman’ collection to Single Homeless Project.. Which will further support Londoners experiencing homelessness – thanks Heath!

More to come from Arthouse and Heath partnership - Watch this space!
