Our Sport Project Brought Together Clients & Staff For A Day Out At The O2

The Sport Project organised a trip for service users and staff to walk over the O2 in Greenwich this Summer. For everyone involved it was a new challenge and one which we all enjoyed immensely.

Sport Project participants and staff from across London came together and enjoyed a sunny afternoon seeing the city sights from up above.

‘It’s great to be offered the chance to do something like this’ – Murat, Participant

Participants expressed interest in trying activities outside of their regular sessions, which is why the Sport Project often tries to provide engaging opportunities outside of hostels. It also opens opportunities in the community for clients to develop confidence in social situations.

‘I’d never have the opportunity to do this normally’ – Andrew, Participant

The O2 walk provided a safe space for clients to challenge themselves. There were some nerves prior to the activity but it was clear to see the huge sense of achievement everyone felt when they had completed the walk.

‘A good physical and mental challenge’ - Davide, Participant

The day brought together staff from our Sport, Youth, and Recovery Opportunities Teams, as well as clients from a range of services. It’s lovely to see participants and staff coming together to enjoy a great day out seeing the sights of London.

‘It’s great to see clients doing something so positive – they’ve had such a good time’ – Lula, Hostel Staff
